FAQ
Good to know
Everything you need to plan your Mad Island experience.
One week before the festival you’ll receive an email with your unique QR code. Bring this QR code and a photo ID to pick up your festival wristband.
Where do I pick up my wristband?
Pick-up times and locations will be announced closer to the festival. Download your QR code to your phone, or print it in case of weak mobile signal, and bring a photo ID that matches the name on your ticket.
Mad Island is a rain-or-shine event: the rain won’t stop us dancing! In case of extreme weather, some performances may be rescheduled or delayed. We’ll keep you posted on social media.
Is there security on site?
Always. Your safety is our priority, and there is plenty of security on site.
Will there be medical services on site?
Yes, medics are on site at all times during the festival. Both the French and the Dutch side of the island have hospitals and urgent care.
Is there a Lost & Found?
Yes, at the admission desk at the main entrance of the festival. After the festival, remaining items can be picked up at the front desk of Hommage Hotel. For follow-up, email info@madislandfestival.com.
Getting there
Can I leave my car at the festival site?
Yes, and please don’t drink and drive. Take a taxi home and pick up your car the next day. Our staff on site are happy to help with local transport tips.
How do I get around the island?
Saint Martin is just 37 square miles: you can drive around the whole island in about 90 minutes. The main road, Route Nationale 7, follows the coast. Traffic is usually light and clears quickly.
Tip: traffic can back up at the Sandy Ground and Simpson Bay bridges when they open for boats. Check the opening times and plan to cross before or after.
How do I get a taxi?
Use the SXM Taxi app (App Store or Google Play), or take a local taxi. Most local taxis don’t take cards, so bring cash (euros or US dollars). Tip: save your driver’s number for the ride back.
Medics are on site at all times, and there is medical help on both sides of the island. Better safe than sorry: we strongly recommend travel insurance.
